Shooting with Coordination Exercises I

  • Organisation

    • 1 Coordination ladder
    • 6 flat hurdles
    • 10 rings
    • 5 flat cones
  • Process

    • Players line up behind Player A, Player B acts as a passer.
    • Player A skips through the coordination ladder with 2 ground contacts in each section. Then, they laterally skip over the hurdles with 2 ground contacts each.

    Variant 1 (Red)

    • Quick sprint to the cone, flat pass from Player B to A. A controls the ball, dribbles to the penalty area, and shoots.

    Variant 2 (Yellow)

    • One-two pass between Player A and B. Long sprint to the cone, skipping through the coordination rings: double rings with one foot each, single ring with both feet, short sprint to the cone. Player B plays a high lofted ball to Player A (back to goal) who controls the ball and shoots.
  • Tip

    Coaching Points

    • Coordination exercises: Focus on correct arm and leg movement during skipping (pulling knees up and swinging arms at right angles)
    • Ball control and receiving: In both variants, there's always an opponent at the player's back. Ensure the ball is always received and controlled with the inside of the foot, keeping the opponent behind.
    • Player B: Ensure correct execution of flat or high lofted passes (position of shooting and standing foot!)
